YUNJIE ZHANG
I'm a Ph.D. student in philosophy at the University of Glasgow. I mainly work on environmental ethics, animal ethics, and value theory.
My thesis explores the possibility of reconciling seemingly opposing views about the morality of animal experimentation. I argue that the moral rights view and utilitarianism are largely convergent on the issue of animal experimentation. I also explore the following questions: how does one each moral principle (e.g. the MRV or utilitarianism) fail on the issue of animal experimentations? Why is it important that the moral rights view and utilitarianism converge on the issue of animal experimentation?
I'm being supervised by Michael Brady and Robert Cowan.
